Beijing on a Budget

China is becoming one of the hottest travel destinations on earth, and the trend is likely to continue as preparations unfold for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Beijing is a city offering ancient wonder and modern convenience at every turn. It's also close to perhaps the greatest tourist attraction in Asia, the Great Wall of China. Here are some budget tips for seeing the Chinese capital.

Yes, China is a place long linked with bold and grand architecture, of which the Great Wall is the first and grandest. When it comes to architecture and infrastructure in modern China, whether Beijing, Shanghai or elsewhere, ‘biggest’, ‘longest’, ‘tallest’ is often the way. So Beijing is a fitting host for the Olympics with its motto of ’stronger, higher, faster’!
