Find a budget trip for $1200

Within the past few days, the U.S. government began mailing tax rebate checks to millions of Americans who filed returns for 2007 and met specific income guidelines. Taxpayers who qualify will receive at least $600; married couples can collect $1200 plus $300 more for each dependent child. The idea is to inject some spending money into a sluggish economy. If you opt for some travel spending, here are five ideas for trips that could fall within that $1200 range. Don't like these suggestions? At the very least, they'll get you thinking about other travel possibilities on a budget.

Don’t count on getting $600.00. My son only got $431 with no explanation as to why. He is living independently with a decent income and filed in early March.
