Air Miles Fees

Remember when you signed up for Frequent Flier Miles with your favorite airline? The idea was that if you piled up mileage, you'd get free travel. Now it seems many airlines need to collect "processing fees" and "reward fees" from their loyal customers. Recently, several more airlines have joined the rush for reaping revenue from what was supposed to be free. Check out links for these new schedules of air miles fees and find out how much those so-called free trips will cost.

This is exactly why we have a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card. Although SWA is only domestic, the free round trips come frequently, and without “processing fees”. They give double credit for airline travel purchased on SWA and that, coupled with generally the lowest cost for tickets, makes SWA our first choice for air travel. We put everything on the card, including insurance, utilities, groceries etc. and it results in about three free roundtrip tickets every year. Additionally, they have very generous baggage allowances and the flight crews make flying entertaining.

This is a selling point for choosing Southwest. Another is their relatively low short-notice fares. If you find yourself suddenly needing to fly in the U.S., Southwest is the first place to check for fares.

I’ve found the easiest way to earn miles is via a credit card that offers miles that you can earn free with your spending.

MileCardReviews.com is where I found my credit card and they seem to have a pretty good selection of reviews based on whatever your needs are.
