Report: Holiday Airline Cancellations up 70 Percent

Sunday January 4, 2009
Remember the surveys a few months ago that showed growing consumer dissatisfaction with the travel industry? Here's a stat that isn't likely to help the airlines: USA Today reports holiday flight cancellations this past holiday season were up 70 percent over last year. Some of that is due to bad weather in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest, but remember too that airlines cut back on the number of flights before the season even started due to economic woes. When problems crop up, do you know how to complain about bad airline service effectively? Be sure you act calmly and within the rules, but above all, act. There's too much money at stake to be treated poorly, even if you did snag a good airfare! Photo: Brendan Smialowski/Getty Images

As a former Frontier flyer because of flight canceled out of San Diego on New Years eve and rerouted out of LAX the next day??????????
No posting of flight info prior to departure only at the gate? Sounds like a equipment or crew problem to me…. Why not lie to a ticket holder in person… It means so much more for the personal service… no vouchers, no transport, no sh.., by-by Froniter.
