Resolution #3: I'll spend less time and money shopping while on my trips.
Shopping is part of the experience of visiting new places. But some people never finish off their lists.
They spend hours in stores not too much different from what could be found at home. They agonize over every purchase. They're forced to lug expensive and bulky purchases for the remainder of their trips.
Some decide they can't pass up "duty free" opportunities, only to find the so-called deals are not really all that great.
Impulse buying kills a lot of travel budgets. Shopping also saps valuable time that could be spent more profitably at a local museum or sidewalk cafe (see resolution #1).
When it comes to shopping, many travelers set a strict spending limit. It's just as wise to budget the amount of time you'll spend doing it.
Do your homework: determine what the local specialties are, what they are likely to cost and whether a duty free break is worthwhile.
