Disney's Advance Purchase Savings program allows you to save up to $12 USD/person over prices at the front gate.

The key is to buy "day hopper tickets," which Disney says "provide admission to all four theme parks on any four days, and any combination of parks in a day."

Here's what you need to know about the passes:

  • Four-Day Park Hopper (ages 10 and older) purchased at gate: $199
  • Four-Day Park Hopper (ages 10 and older) purchased in advance: $192, a savings of $7
  • Five-Day Park Hopper (ages 10 and older) purchased at gate: $229
  • Five-Day Park Hopper (ages 10 and older) purchased in advance: $217, a savings of $12

Before you laugh, consider that the five-day park hopper would save a family of four a total of $48. That's nearly the cost of a one-day admission.

The five-day passes also include two visits to Blizzard Beach water park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park or Downtown Disney Pleasure Island.

Six- and seven-day passes are also available.

Then there is an "Ultimate" ticket that provides unlimited access to everything Walt Disney World offers, but there's a catch: you must stay in a Disney resort on the property.

Many budget travelers prefer to stay off the Disney property, where they believe better prices abound. Weigh the costs carefully.

If the advance purchase option is of interest, you can order tickets at the Walt Disney World Web site, on the phone at 407-W-DISNEY, at participating Disney Stores, or through your travel agent.
