Most people fly because driving is impractical. But it might surprise you to know how much money can be saved by driving to an airport that is perhaps not the most convenient but within a reasonable distance of departure or destination points. Some budget travelers limit the search to airports within 150 miles of home. Others have the luxury of several major airports within 50 miles of home. Whatever your situation, it's always a good idea to shop for airports.
