Bavarian Motor Works (BMW) European Delivery
This always starts in Munich, but drop-off and shipment can occur from 19 locations in six European nations, and only the Italian locations each require a fee. Pick-ups and drop-offs are not done on weekends or a long list of local holidays. Avoid the day after these off-days, when the lines get longer.
The program provides insurance coverage in Europe with no deductible (except for theft) for 14 days, with additional days available for purchase.
The entire process takes about six to eight weeks for those in Eastern North America, and eight to 10 weeks for those in the West. Included in that time is about 20 business days for vehicle preparation at the U.S. port of entry.
BMW will not allow you to take European Delivery of Z4 and X5 models, since they are also manufactured in the U.S.
As with the others, BMW will insure you and guarantees any damage in transit will be fixed prior to final delivery.
At $27,440 USD, the 128i Coupé is the least expensive model available for European delivery. That's $2,010 less than the MSRP for a U.S. purchase of the same model. All the models eligible for European delivery are discounted up to 7 percent, which on some high-end models can save more than $9,000.
