Can you drive 55?
On longer trips, many of us cannot abide 55 miles per hour if the legal speed limit is higher. However, it is worth considering that the typical engine loses two percent in fuel economy for every mile per hour above 55. So, a vehicle that gets 30 miles per gallon at 55 miles per hour drops to 21 MPG when the speedometer hits 70.
