Generous Reward Credit Card Offers

Consumers have been relatively cautious about credit since the economic turmoil of late 2008. That's not a bad thing. Much of the irresponsible spending in our society involves over-extensions on credit cards.

But credit card companies are seeking new customers and in some cases offering nice incentives to those who might consider travel rewards cards. One such credit card offer awarded me 100,000 frequent flier miles on British Airways in 2010--just for opening a new account. That was enough to pay for a two round trip flights to Europe in the peak of summer for less than $900, taxes included. More typical offers are in the 30,000-50,000 mile range.

Before acting on these opportunities, consider answer a few questions about reward credit cards.
