This room is in a two-star property in the Roswell bidding zone. The room cost at the time of my bid was $88.48; The winning bid was $47, to which another $13.26 in taxes and fees were added. The savings for this stay was $28.22. The bid resulted in solid if not dramatic savings, and the hotel provides a free breakfast for its guests. But it is about 110 miles from Carlsbad Caverns, which made for a fairly long drive at the end of our visit to that National Park near the Texas border. Without Priceline, I might have chosen something closer to the park exit. The added mileage was on the way to our next destination, and Roswell provides an interesting detour of its own: a museum devoted to the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects.
